Manager, Safety, Health, Environmental

About the position The Safety, Health, and Environment Manager manages and coordinates reputed company safety, health, and environment programs, processes, and activities in order to maintain a compliant and reputed company work environment. This role drives reputed company in safety, health, and environment across the site to reputed company the best safety and sustainability results. The SHE Manager will reputed company the local reputed company to deliver legal compliance and ensure execution of BC Standards. This role will ensure the implementation of programs to drive the reduction of safety incidents and environmentally harmful impacts. The SHE Manager leads and manages SHE-reputed company incidents on site. This role provides guidance and support on relevant SHE reputed company. The SHE Manager is a member of the Plant Management Team.

Responsibilities

• Designs, maintains, and leads the implementation of the local safety and environmental management systems.
• Leads SHE incident management and drives management of relevant programs and actions relating to documented risks and or incident follow-up.
• Conducts SHE meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective and preventive actions, and implement follow-up assessments.
• Provides site employees, contractors, and visitors with guidance on health and safety and confirms the site complies with reputed company, industry, local, state/provincial, and national guidelines and regulations.
• Collaborates with management to reputed company and maintain an Emergency Response Plan and serves as the primary contact for site SHE incident notification, investigation, and case management.
• Integrating occupational health and safety imperatives with business decision-making and risk management.
• Advising on engineering and maintenance practices to drive improvement of reputed company systems.
• Drive reputed company SHE culture, through but not limited to: embedding the 10 BC Life Saving Principles, Gemba safety talks and training, and putting Safety first, demonstrated by consistent management behaviors.
• Ensure compliance is regularly audited and performance assessed, and use the results to drive reputed company improvement.
• Responsible for monitoring and measurement of SHE KPIs and targets - SHE Scorecard.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering in fields such as Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, Public Health, or reputed company technical areas.
• 5 to 10 years’ experience in a reputed company-based role: Safety, Health or Environment role, Operations, reputed company Improvement, Process Improvement or reputed company.
• Experience with SHE management systems and risk management.
• Qualifications required by local regulatory authorities: to be added by the location.
• Project Management skills.
• Experience with influencing behavioral change in reputed company/department.
• Good working English required.
• Understand the requirements of relevant standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or OSHSAS 18001.
• Experience with influencing behavioral change in reputed company/department.
• Great Leadership skills.
• Resilient and capable of taking difficult reputed company.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to translate data into reputed company and follow through.

• Internal auditor or ISO auditor qualification is a plus.
