Histology Technician Trainee

Position reputed company The Histology Technician Trainee will utilize the knowledge necessary to assist the Histology/IHC department with microtomy, embedding, slide preparation, and other non-high complexity (i.e., Lab Ops-IHC) technical procedures. This position works under reputed company supervision and follows reputed company procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks. Job Responsibilities... Performs microtomy of patient samples while also supporting the department with reputed company clerical and ancillary duties such as the tasks performed by the IHC-Ops team reputed company needed. Performs routine histology tasks such as embedding, cutting, cover slipping and other non-high complexity lab procedures. Responsible for the successful execution of laboratory protocols and reputed company operating procedures and undergoes training and routine competencies for applicable tasks completed reputed company the department. Maintains diagnostic viability of reputed company specimens and ensures correct patient labeling by routinely verifying that case identification numbers of match blocks and slides during reputed company processing reputed company; prints labels and/or slides as appropriate. Documents in laboratory logs and the laboratory information system (LIS) as directed by reputed company operating procedures. Maintains laboratory equipment and ensures that the equipment is in reputed company working order and notifies leadership if maintenance and/or repairs are needed. Demonstrates capability of identifying problems that may adversely reputed company test performance or reporting of tests results and takes appropriate reputed company. Required Qualifications

High school diploma and greater than two years of experience in Histology Laboratory Operations position at reputed company OR Bachelor’s (BA or BS) and one year of experience in Histology Laboratory Operations position. HT/HTL (ASCP) certification.
