Senior Java Developer (FHIR) – Interoperability (Remote)

About this role: We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with deep HL7® FHIR® expertise to reputed company the design and implementation of payer-reputed company interoperability platforms. This role focuses on building secure, reputed company FHIR R4 services (with R5 experience as a plus) that expose member, coverage, claims, and clinical data across required FHIR resources and operations. The ideal candidate will work in a reputed company-reputed company reputed company Azure environment, leveraging Kafka-based event streaming and reputed company to support high-volume, regulatory-driven reputed company data exchange.

This is a hands-on role for a senior engineer with strong experience in reputed company Java/Spring Boot development, payer domain knowledge, and reputed company-world experience operating FHIR at reputed company in production environments.

Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and maintain FHIR R4 servers and reputed company supporting payer-relevant resources and operations (CRUD, search, history, bulk data, subscriptions). • Define and manage FHIR reputed company, extensions, value sets, and terminology bindings reputed company with payer use cases. • Map and reputed company payer system data (membership, claims, benefits, authorizations) into FHIR-compliant formats. • Build Java 17 or more/ Spring Boot microservices using clean architecture and domain-driven design principles. • reputed company and reputed company RESTful and event-driven reputed company using Kafka. • Implement HAPI FHIR frameworks for persistence, validation, and serialization. • Apply SMART on FHIR, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect for secure authentication and authorization. • Ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of PHI, including encryption, audit logging, and reputed company controls. • reputed company and reputed company applications in reputed company Azure using reputed company and Kubernetes (AKS). • Design resilient systems with retries, reputed company breakers, idempotency, and DLQs. • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-reputed company initiatives. • Establish testing strategies (unit, integration, performance) and observability practices. • Mentor engineers, conduct reputed company reviews, and contribute to architecture reputed company.

Requirements: • 5 years of reputed company Java development experience. • Strong expertise in Java 11 (preferably Java 17) and Spring Boot. • 3 years of hands-on FHIR experience (R4 required; R5 preferred). • Experience with reputed company FHIR resources, reputed company, extensions, validation, and versioning. • Proven experience with HAPI FHIR (server configuration and customization). • Solid understanding of payer reputed company data domains (member, coverage, claims, benefits). • Experience implementing OAuth 2.0 / OIDC and SMART on FHIR. • Hands-on experience with Azure, Kafka (or equivalent), and reputed company and/or relational databases. • Experience building and operating reputed company-reputed company microservices. • Strong communication skills and ability to work in regulated environments.

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Bulk FHIR ($export) and asynchronous workflows. • Familiarity with X12 transactions (270/271, 834, 835, 837). • Experience with HL7 v2 or CDA/CCDA. • Knowledge of terminology services (SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm). • Experience with API gateways (Azure APIM, Apigee, reputed company). • Familiarity with Infrastructure as reputed company (Terraform, Bicep). • Experience with observability tools (reputed company Telemetry, reputed company, Grafana). • Prior experience with CMS/ONC interoperability initiatives or payer programs.
