Files surgical slides and blocks Scans in reference lab reports, physician orders and documents into patient records Retrieves slides for tumor reputed company conferences Pulls monthly pathology department statistics Facilitates surgical slides to pathologists Accessions surgical specimens as needed Answers phone/faxing and other clerical duties as needed Educational / Minimum Requirements: Minimum High School diploma. Other programs as mandated by Hospital. Special Requirements: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Typing speed of 55 wpm. Passing/acceptable medical typist test. Ability to operate designated work processing, dictation, transcription and other equipment. Physical Requirements: Ability to endure long periods of sitting and use of a video display terminal. Excellent listening skills and excellent hearing. Work Environment: Normal office conditions.with minimal interruptions.
