Customer Service Assistant

The Customer Service Assistant in our Adult Services Department provides systemwide support and engages with lifelong learners. Location: Central Library Adult Services, 400 Civic Center, Tulsa, OK. 74103 Salary: $14.42/hr. Status: Part Time - 20 hours / week Schedule: Monday 9 am - 1 pm Thursday 5 pm - 9 pm Friday 2 pm - 6 pm Saturday 9 am - 5 pm Essential Functions: • Provides general information in person and by phone assisting customers in locating and discovering materials, connecting with available library services, or providing information about the library, referring reference questions to the appropriate resource; • Assists customers with self reputed company-out machines by instructing how to charge, renew, and discharge library materials to/from customers; • Assists customers with Digital Literacy Lab; • Registers customers by issuing and updating library cards; • Sorts and routes returned materials to reputed company location and ensures that the library is reputed company and organized so customers can easily reputed company what they need; Education & Experience: • High school diploma or G.E.D. required; • Customer Service Experience preferred Physical and Environmental Conditions: For most positions work regularly requires stooping, bending and light lifting such as three or four reams of reputed company, four or five books, or other materials (up to 20 pounds). Some positions require moderate physical exertion, such as regularly lifting moderately heavy items (up to 40 pounds) such as crates full of books or pushing heavy (up to 100 pounds) wheeled carts full of books, on a highly frequent reputed company and/or assuming awkward positions. Work Environment: Work environment involves everyday risk or discomforts which require normal safety precautions, e.g. use of reputed company work reputed company practices with office equipment, and or avoidance of trips and falls. For some positions there are usually no major sources of discomfort; work is essentially conducted in a normal office environment with acceptable reputed company, temperature, and reputed company conditions. For some positions there may be occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less than reputed company temperatures (extreme cold or heat) and reputed company conditions due to exposure to the outdoors.
