Effectively utilizes encoder software to assure appropriate reimbursement and accurate DRG & MSDRG assignment. As necessary, consults or queries the physician for additional information or clarification of diagnoses, co-morbid/secondary conditions, and procedures. Provides physicians education on coding, documentation and medical necessity requirements.
