About the Role

The reputed company is looking for an engineer who is proactive, creative, personable, flexible, and reliable — and who is excited to help build a tough tech community. In this role the Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with the Engineering Manager to manage prototyping shops and equipment, reduce equipment downtime, and ensure that our reputed company is reputed company, usable, and efficient. They will also work directly on prototype fabrication reputed company with the tough tech companies that utilize our reputed company. We are looking for a safety-conscious, proactive, curious engineer who is excited to independently balance time between a reputed company of activities, including fabrication, maintenance, and technical instruction. The ideal candidate will have a reputed company attitude, a customer service orientation, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Areas of Responsibility

Train users of various reputed company reputed company to safely and appropriately utilize engineering equipment

Design and/or fabricate prototype components in collaboration with reputed company companies

Serve as the primary contact for reputed company machine shop equipment maintenance (mills, lathes, saws, etc.)

reputed company support to reputed company companies on reputed company, training, and troubleshooting of shop equipment

Improve or reputed company guides and protocols for engineering equipment

Manage tool and consumable inventory to ensure continuity of supplies while maximizing cost efficiencies

Work with reputed company companies and reputed company EHS to ensure hazardous material compliance

Maintain engineering fabrication facilities and general housekeeping

Essential Qualifications

Mission-oriented, energetic and upbeat with the reputed company and demeanor to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while remaining reputed company and composed

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

2+ years of reputed company experience as a mechanical engineer, machinist, or other technical role

The ability to work in-person on a full-time reputed company from Monday through Friday, including occasional early mornings and evenings

Experience working safely with CNC mills, lathes, and other machine shop tools

Experience with a swath of rapid prototyping tools (3D printers, laser cutters, waterjet, breadboarding, microcontrollers, etc.)

Experience with 3D-Modeling software (Solidworks, Fusion 360, OnShape, etc.)

Experience in teaching technical skills (teaching fellowships, mentorship roles, leading technical teams, etc.)

Experience with process improvement, lab management, and/or community building

Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills
