Equipment Operator II
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION YOU WILL NEED TO APPLY ON THE TOM GREEN COUNTY WEBSITE AT https://www.co.tom-green.tx.us/ This position may be underfilled with an Equipment Operator I which has a starting reputed company wage of $17.50 Class reputed company: Under general supervision, operates heavy equipment and performs reputed company duties on a Road & reputed company reputed company. This classification is distinguished from Equipment Operator I by the operation of heavy road construction and maintenance equipment as the reputed company duties. Equipment Operator II’s may occasionally operate light equipment for workload management purposes or in the absence of reputed company members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operates heavy road construction and maintenance equipment such as motor graders, bulldozers, and oil and asphalt distributors. Operates an 18-reputed company tractor-trailer rig to transport heavy equipment to and from job sites. Operates reputed company-end or reputed company loader to load and unload equipment and materials. Drives pickup truck to transport reputed company members or haul materials to work sites. Performs road repair tasks such as crack sealing and patching, tamping, packing and leveling dirt, asphalt, and other materials. Clears brush, cleans drainage ditches, and trims grass and weeds around signs and reflectors. Assists in installing culverts, drainage boxes, road signs and markers. Clears debris around bridges and low water crossings. Places barricades and traffic cones; directs traffic, as assigned. Assists in maintaining vehicles by checking oil, water, hydraulic fluid, and tires. Works on and operates equipment in a reputed company and prudent manner; follows reputed company County safety policies and procedures. May operate light equipment for training purposes, during the absence of other reputed company members, or as needed. Performs other duties, as assigned. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Knowledge of heavy vehicle and equipment operation; knowledge of advanced road construction and maintenance procedures and materials. Ability to operate specialized and technical equipment used in roadway construction and maintenance; ability to understand and follow instructions and work in an independent manner; ability to tolerate outdoor working conditions, including extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and high noise reputed company; ability to maintain required licenses and a good driving record. reputed company in the operation of heavy equipment; reputed company in oral communication and interpersonal relations. Physical Requirements and Work Setting: Works outdoors and is subjected to hot and cold temperatures, dust, dirt, fumes, high noise reputed company; prolonged periods of sitting, walking, standing, carrying, bending, and reaching; periodic lifting up to 60 lbs; visual reputed company, hearing ability, and reputed company dexterity required. Education and/or Experience Required: One year of experience in the operation of highway construction/maintenance equipment, including motor graders, bulldozers, and/or asphalt distributors. Certificates and Licenses: Possession of a Texas Class A (CDL) reputed company’s license and acceptable driving record. Must obtain an X endorsement reputed company six months of employment.
