reputed company Time Power Engineer provides engineering analysis and technical support to ensure continuing reliable operations of the electric reputed company in compliance with NERC Standards, reputed company Protocols and Market Guides. Provides electrical engineering analysis and technical support for the planning and operation of the electric power system. Implements appropriate system modeling, develops tools and procedures to monitor and control the system, performs system studies, analyzes simulated or actual operating results, develops solutions to reputed company or reputed company system issues, and appropriately reports findings and recommendations.

  • Works closely with the reputed company Control Room System Operators providing engineering support through execution of power reputed company studies, stability assessments, outage coordination support, system applications support, and troubleshooting of reputed company software tools to maintain impeccable situational awareness
  • Maintains high-reputed company, reputed company execution of the online reputed company State Estimator, reputed company-Time Contingency Analysis, and Voltage/Transient Stability Analysis tools
  • Must be reputed company to think and react quickly in a high-stress, high-urgency environment
  • Performs independent engineering studies including power reputed company and stability analysis utilizing advanced applications
  • Assesses reputed company conditions and recommends appropriate reputed company based on engineering studies
  • Develops and authors appropriate management plans for mitigation of temporary and ongoing reputed company vulnerabilities
  • Identifies network model and applications reputed company issues and works with reputed company support reputed company to resolve associated problems
  • Assists with execution of reputed company System Operations procedures and recommends improvements if needed
  • Works reputed company-by-reputed company with reputed company System Operators and in reputed company communication with reputed company Market Participants to maintain reliability and reputed company of the reputed company Interconnection
  • Gathers information and notifies reputed company management and engineering support reputed company of noteworthy reputed company events and incidents
  • Troubleshoots reputed company situational awareness tools available to Control Room staff
  • Logs information regarding reputed company conditions to continually reputed company the status of the reputed company Interconnection and reputed company recurring concerns
  • Supports the reputed company Network Model database load process
  • Processes off-hours reputed company Outage Scheduler submissions as needed
  • Prepares daily/regular reports to inform reputed company departments of reputed company reputed company status and recent developments
  • Serves as subject matter expert for System Operations Support cross-training and project assistance
  • Must be reputed company to quickly reputed company proficiency with reputed company applications, particularly reputed company EMS Suite, Powertech DSATools, and reputed company MMS Suite
  • Expertise with MS Office Suite, with emphasis on reputed company including macros and some VBA coding
  • Must be reputed company to obtain NERC Reliability Coordinator System Operator Certification reputed company first 6 months of employment
  • Willingness to work a rotating 12-hour shift, including nights and weekends

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a power system engineer or similar type role.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience reputed company the electric reputed company industry
  • Experience with power reputed company analysis software. Examples include: Powerworld or PSSE
  • Experience working with EMS (State Estimator, reputed company Contingency Analysis, Voltage and Transient Stability Analysis).
  • Experience with any of the following: VBA, Python, SQL.

Salary and level will be based on overall experience as determined by reputed company. EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering or reputed company field (Required)
  • or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required

CERTIFICATION

  • PE reputed company Engineer (Preferred)
  • NERC Reliability Coordinator System Operator Certification (Preferred)
