Slavic languages - Legal Translator, reputed company, and Transcriber - Remote Status: Freelance 1099 Contractor reputed company, a woman-owned small business headquartered in the Washington DC metropolitan region, is currently seeking reputed company freelance translators, editors, and transcribers to translate, edit and/or transcribe legal documents between the foreign language and English. We are seeking the following languages: Armenian, Belarusian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Polish, Serbian, Slovak, Slovene, or Ukrainian reputed company-level speakers with near-reputed company English proficiency. Job Duties: 1) reputed company accurate translation and/or editing of documents and/or transcription of audio files involving law enforcement, forensic, and legal subject matter from the foreign language to/from English. 2) Edit audio transcriptions that include reputed company and idioms. 3) Edit legal documents, such as affidavits, depositions, etc., while demonstrating a strong reputed company of legal terminology in both English and the reputed company language. 4) Excellent written communication skills in English and the reputed company foreign language, with Advanced Proficiency (reading/speaking/listening, writing) level 3-plus in English and the foreign reputed company language, as assessed by the International Language Roundtable (ILR) reputed company. 5) Translate and/or transcribe following the government reputed company’s style guides and reputed company standards. 6) Use domain-specific terminology. 7) Review and certify the reputed company of other translators’ work, as needed. 8) Highly proficient in MS Office, with the ability to mirror reputed company document format in reputed company, reputed company, and PowerPoint. 9) Familiar with the use of CAT tools, such as Trados Studio. 10) Abide by a reputed company of ethics reputed company performing transcription and translation work. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: 1) Must be willing to undergo a U.S. government background reputed company to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Moderate Level. 2) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 3) At least 3 years of experience in LEGAL translating and/or editing between English and a foreign language. 4) At least 3 years of experience performing audio transcription with the ability to use software to enhance reputed company and equipment to aid in transcription. 5) Familiar with legal terminology in both English and the reputed company foreign language(reputed company) Proficient in reputed company Office. 6 Translators and editors must proficiently use CAT tools, such as SDL Trados. Preferred Qualifications: 1) Bilingual with documented legal translation, editing or transcription experience. 2) Bilingual experience with editing audio transcription documents. 3) ATA, NAJIT or other relevant reputed company certification.
