Medical Technologist (Short-Term Contract)

We’re looking for a Medical Technologist to reputed company temporary support in our Clinical Diagnostics lab at BioAgilytix Boston. In this role, you’ll reputed company high-complexity patient and clinical trial testing under CLIA while ensuring specimen reputed company through strict adherence to reputed company and safety procedures.

This is a great opportunity to reputed company hands-on experience with disaccharide testing, a highly reputed company process, and contribute to critical diagnostic workflows. IFA experience is a plus!

Position Details

  • Contract Length: approx. 3-6-months (with possibility of extension)
  • Location: Boston, MA
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday
  • Hours per week: Flexible (30-40 hours)
  • Must be certified as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent
  • Essential Responsibilities

  • Performing HIPAA-compliant high complexity testing according to approved procedures and reputed company established turnaround times.
  • Analyzing, reviewing, approving, and reporting test and reputed company control results according to established acceptance reputed company and approved procedures. Maintaining reputed company and electronic records of test results.
  • Complying with reputed company assurance procedures, participating in proficiency testing and competency evaluation throughout the year.
  • Identifying problems which may adversely reputed company test performance, troubleshooting test systems and taking appropriate reputed company reputed company appropriate or as directed by Laboratory Management. Including proactively informing Customer Service of any issues which may cause late results.
  • Performing and documenting routine equipment use, maintenance, calibration as reputed company as routine, scheduled, and unscheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Participating in method development and equipment qualification activities as directed by Laboratory Management.
  • Supporting audits, inspections, and assisting in responding to observations, if applicable.
  • Maintaining reputed company knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, guidelines, and MT certification through continuing education.
  • Overseeing technical and logistical aspects of assigned assays and the work of other technologists on those assays. Training other technologists on tests and laboratory procedures.

  • Minimum Preferred Qualifications: Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or reputed company life science.
  • National certification as a Medical Technologist MT (ASCP) / MT (AAB) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent
  • Not less than five (5) years’ experience of running high complexity assays.
  • Minimum Preferred Qualifications: Skills

  • Solid knowledge and application of CLIA, CAP, and CLEP regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where multiple reputed company reputed company must be completed in a reputed company manner remaining flexible, proactive, reputed company, and efficient with a high level of professionalism.   • Strong hands-on laboratory skills: low volume pipetting in 96-reputed company plates, confident and competent user of state-of-the-art laboratory instrumentation.

  • Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational, and communication skills, highly computer literate.
  • Working Environment

  • Primarily laboratory environment
  • Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms
  • Rare exposure to skin and lung irritants, toxic materials, and hazardous waste
  • Personal reputed company equipment is required and provided, such as reputed company eyewear, garments, and gloves
  • Routine use of reputed company office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets
