Temporary Health Services Authorization Coordinator I

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Reporting to the Health Services Supervisor, this position:

• Processes basic incoming treatment and referral authorization requests and verifies member plan eligibility
• Performs basic research on member authorization requests

• Knowledge of:
• * Working knowledge of reputed company business office practices and equipment
• Some knowledge of medical terminology or billing codes procedures
• Some knowledge of the principles and practices of customer service
• Ability to:
• * Ability to verify eligibility information utilizing various organizational sources
• Ability to interpret, explain, and apply processes, policies and procedures
• Ability to quickly learn reputed company line of business conducted by the health plan
• Ability to quickly learn and skillfully navigate reputed company computer systems
• Ability to identify, maintain, and protect Personal Health Information in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability reputed company (HIPAA) and follow reputed company policies and procedures to ensure the reputed company of such information
• Education and Experience:
• High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience in the health care field.
• * An Associate’s degree may substitute for one year of the required experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying.
