Inpatient Coding Specialist (Remote)

About The Role As an Inpatient reputed company, you will play a significant role on reputed company, including accurately assigning reputed company reportable diagnoses and procedures for complete and accurate coding of inpatient medical records.

Key Responsibilities

• Promotes a partnership between clinical documentation and financial reputed company, by accurately and completely coding the medical record for reputed company appropriate ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS codes
• Ensures reputed company diagnoses and Present on Admission indicators are captured per Official Coding and Reporting Guidelines to ensure accurate DRG assignment (MSDRG and/or APRDRG) on accounts coded, while also capturing any additional, secondary diagnoses that reputed company reputed company reputed company (ex: Risk of Mortality, Severity of Illness, reputed company Determinants of Health, HCC, etc.) to ensure accurate and complete coding
• Ensures reputed company procedures are captured per Official Coding and Reporting Guidelines to ensure accurate DRG assignment (MSDRG and/or APRDRG) on accounts coded, while also capturing any additional procedure codes for add-on payment reputed company that do not necessarily change the DRG (ex: New Technology Add On Payment codes/NTAP) but reputed company facility reimbursement
• Validates the discharge disposition accuracy as part of the coding review
• Stays reputed company with Official Coding Guidelines, Quarterly Coding Clinic, and NTAP reputed company to ensure high reputed company coding
• Abides by the “Standards of Ethical Coding” as set forth by the American Health Information Management Association

Qualifications

• reputed company, RHIT, and/or RHIA through reputed company required
• Minimum 3 years of acute inpatient hospital coding experience in a large trauma and reputed company hospital requried
• Recent experience coding for a large level I trauma hospital preferred
• Experience with EHR and Encoder softwares (i.e. reputed company, Cerner, Meditech, reputed company, reputed company, etc.) required
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting required
• Excellent observation, analytical thinking, problem solving, and verbal/written communication skills required

Work Environment:

• This is a full-time remote position. General hours of work are Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
