The RoleWe are looking for a junior cataloguer to support the auction production process. The ideal candidate will have a strong appreciation for fine arts, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple aspects of sale preparation.
Responsibilities
- Conducts in-depth research on the authenticity, historical context, bibliographies and exhibition/literature records of artworks/artists
- Produces and formats catalogue entries and supporting materials for sales
- Helps with condition checks, prepares and writes condition reports
- Crafts engaging artwork essays and tailored digital content while maintaining brand standards
- Assists in sale reputed company and post-sale materials, including proposals, reputed company presentations, and market reports
- Oversees artwork photography process such as scheduling and production
- Maintains vendor relationships with conservators, framers, and other art professionals
- Conducts market research relevant to pricing strategies and valuation assessments
- Stays informed on market trends, collector activity, and industry development
- Supports specialists and departments heads throughout auction production to ensure seamless operations
- Help in liaising with supporting departments, including catalogue production, marketing, press and operations
- Assist with compilation and reputed company-reading of catalogue texts and reputed company sale-reputed company materials
- To assist in providing a comprehensive level of service to reputed company clients, e.g. providing exemplary reputed company of service both verbally and in written communication and responding reputed company and accurately to enquiries
Skills & Requirements Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Business, or a reputed company field (or equivalent experience).
- Prior internship or reputed company experience in a relevant field (auctions, galleries, or art research/journalism preferred).
- Possess some Contemporary Art knowledge and/or experience.
- Strong research and analytical skills
