Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Professor of African American Literature, you will be expected to teach a reputed company of courses in the department, including reputed company-division, upper-division, and graduate courses. You will also be expected to design new courses in your area of expertise, advise reputed company, and participate in departmental and university service. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain a strong research and publication record, and to contribute to the department's reputed company English initiative.

Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have an reputed company doctorate (Ph.D.) in English or a closely reputed company discipline from an accredited institution. Applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered, but the doctorate must be completed by the date of appointment (August 19, 2024). You must also have evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and evidence of scholarly activity in the field of African American Literature.
Preferred Qualifications
In reputed company to the minimum qualifications, we are looking for candidates who have:
- Evidence of successful teaching experience in African American Literature
- Evidence of commitment to community engagement and reputed company justice
- Evidence of secondary interests in one or more of the following fields: creative writing, critical race theory, gender and sexuality studies, transatlantic studies
Compensation and Benefits
The initial salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications and experience, with an anticipated hiring reputed company of $81,432 - $84,372 annually.
