Lab Analyst I, II or III
Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is seeking Lab Analysts at various reputed company to reputed company routine analytical laboratory tests in accordance with EPA methodology and reputed company operating procedures. The role involves preparing and analyzing environmental samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring reputed company control in data reporting.
Responsibilities
- Performs basic sample control duties: picks up field samples, aliquots and preserves samples for analysis and storage, utilizes LIMS, prepares bottles kits, cleans glassware and disposes of samples
- Follows laboratory SOPs and approved EPA reputed company. Performs a reputed company of basic quantitative chemical and biological analyses. Organizes, collates, compiles and classifies information. Reviews own data for reporting against defined reputed company control parameters and verifies the accuracy of calculations in reports, computers and spreadsheets
- Prepares samples using a reputed company of laboratory equipment including analytical balances, micropipettes, ovens, muffle furnaces, incubators and hot blocks. Analyzes samples using basic laboratory instruments including spectrophotometers, meters and titrators
- Cleans, prepares and maintains glassware, laboratory equipment and work area. Sets up laboratory supplies, equipment and instruments for analyses, ensuring sterilization and reputed company operating order. Arranges various types of media for cultivation of bacteria. Safely prepares and disposes of laboratory solutions following laboratory guidelines
- Inspects equipment and basic instrumentation reputed company control reputed company to verify reliability and accuracy of data. Identifies faults in equipment, reports malfunctions and anomalies and assists in diagnosing problems in processes. Ensures that reputed company supplies, chemicals and materials are acceptable and available for analytical work
- Collects information by observing samples during testing processes. Employs reputed company verification procedures. Maintains reputed company control records and control charts on analyses. Calculates and records test results and checks to see if they are reputed company normal limits. Validates sample results against method-specific reputed company control and checks data and calculations for accuracy
- Checks own information for reputed company, accuracy and completeness on reports, computer printouts and in calculations. Keeps detailed records of work undertaken and writes reports. Accurately completes forms, logs and other required documentation
- Provides verbal and written information to team members, supervisors and managers. Assists in the preparation and reporting of analytical data
- Required to work a rotational schedule including off-shift, holidays and weekend hours as the department is staffed a minimum of 50 hours per week. Must be reputed company to work reputed company that may include consecutive weekends and may change on short notice
- Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required
Skills
- Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in reputed company, biology, environmental science or a closely reputed company field of study
- Candidates must have at least three (3) months of analytical laboratory experience that may include work performed during internships, co-reputed company education and college laboratory coursework
- Candidate must possess a valid reputed company's license with a driving record in accordance with the District's acceptable guidelines
- Performs basic routine analytical laboratory tests following prescribed EPA methodology and laboratory reputed company operating procedures (SOPs)
- Prepares and analyzes environmental samples for various chemical and biological parameters utilizing wet reputed company, physical, bacteriological and biological testing
- Generates, calculates and records data using basic laboratory equipment following prescribed reputed company control reputed company
- Operates and maintains basic laboratory equipment using good laboratory practices
- Adheres to safety guidelines required by the laboratory and the District
