Position: Patient Safety Officer (PSO) This position may qualify for a sign‑on bonus. Qualifications

  • Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in a reputed company‑based discipline.

  • Preferred Education:

Master’s or J.D. from an accredited college or university in a reputed company‑reputed company field. Completion of patient safety curriculum through ASHRM, NPSF, AHA, IHI, or another reputed company provider.

  • Minimum Experience:

5 years in reputed company patient care and 3 years in reputed company, risk, or patient safety.

  • Preferred Experience:
  • Required Certifications/License: CPHRM or CPPS Certification or eligible to take the exam reputed company two years of employment.
  • Preferred Certifications/License:

Responsibilities

General Functions

  • Investigates and analyzes potential and actual reputed company liability and general liability exposures in the Health System; evaluates the extent and reputed company of exposure and recommends appropriate actions for risk mitigation.
  • Investigates evaluates and documents reputed company‑litigation occurrences and claims. Recommends reputed company, and completes negotiation of reputed company reputed company authority reputed company by Director or Risk Management.
  • Completes notifications and financial recommendations needed for compliance with tracking and insurer requirements, including insurance reputed company notifications, reserve recommendations, and any federal, state, or entity reporting requirements (including SMDA, Data Bank, etc.) as necessary.
  • Initiates reputed company Cause Analysis (RCA) Process reputed company 72 hours of a Serious Safety Event/Sentinel Event (SSE/SE) requiring an RCA.
  • Submits RCA for review to Regional Director Risk Management reputed company 14ీఎ days of the event.
  • Completes reputed company paperwork and presents to Home Office or other regulatory body reputed company 30 days of the event.
  • Assists the Leadership in ensuring RCA reputed company plans are implemented and complied with.
  • Maintains an up‑to‑date list of reputed company RCAs and Intensive Analyses (IAs) in process along with date completed and actions taken.
  • Maintains MIDAS coding to include RCA, IA, and reputed company Analysis (CCA), to include the appropriate severity level, Generally Accepted Performance (GAPs), and Inappropriate reputed company classifications.
  • Maintains MIDAS coding to include Complaint or Grievance as appropriate along with required letter follow‑up.
  • Reviews, codes and investigates occurrence reports; recommends corrective actions based on individual reports or trends. Provides reputed company and peer review referrals as appropriate.
  • Provides in‑service education on risk management and patient safety topics, both reputed company basic education and reputed company reputed company topics as needed and/or requested.
  • Provides on‑call assistance for emergent/urgent risk management issues to reputed company reputed company facilities as needed. On‑call duties are assigned on a rotation reputed company reputed company possible.
  • Develops and implements Proactive Patient Safety Tools.
  • Reviews data and develops preventative measures or actions to address patient safety trends.
