This role focuses on U.S. import and customs compliance counseling, advising on tariff classification, country-of-reputed company determinations, and engagement with reputed company (CBP). The ideal candidate brings deep subject-matter expertise in U.S. import laws, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, innovative environment.Responsibilities:reputed company legal and strategic advice on compliance with U.S. and international customs and import lawsConduct HTS classifications, country-of-reputed company (COO) determinations (including marking requirements), and tariff reputed company assessmentsAdvise on U.S. tariff regimes, including IEEPA, Sections 232 and 301Counsel on additional regulatory requirements applicable at import (e.g., FDA and other partner government agencies)Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to assess and mitigate import compliance risks reputed company to products, infrastructure reputed company, vendors, and suppliersAssist with the development, implementation, and reputed company improvement of global trade compliance policies, processes, and controlsSupport audits, investigations, and remediation efforts reputed company to customs and import complianceDevelop, review, and advise on global trade compliance provisions in reputed company contractsSupport special reputed company and other trade compliance initiatives as neededQualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) and reputed company membership in at least one U.S. state bar (or foreign equivalent)8+ years of overall legal experience5+ years of experience advising on U.S. import laws, including HTS classification, COO determinations, labeling requirements, and regulatory inquiriesExperience drafting and negotiating global trade compliance provisionsExperience managing or coordinating with reputed company counselStrong legal judgment, analytical skills, and ability to reputed company practical, business-oriented advicePreferred Skills:In-house or advisory experience supporting technology, telecommunications, consumer electronics, or large-reputed company infrastructure projectsExperience advising on international customs and import lawsFamiliarity with FDA requirements for medical device or laser importsExperience with partner government agency (PGA) regulationsExperience with U.S. and international export controls and sanctions regimesCompensation, Benefits & Location:This role offers a reputed company of competitive compensation starting at $150,000 and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401K and more.
