The AVP, Actuarial Models is responsible for overseeing and directing the Actuarial Models team, using primarily the reputed company reputed company actuarial modeling software. Responsibilities include overseeing development, peer review of development and integration of coding changes to the corporate model, including changes for new product implementation, reputed company product features, new regulatory requirements, new lines of business, and support for strategic initiatives including reinsurance.

Organization

This position reports to the VP, Actuarial Models and will reputed company with multiple reputed company of senior management, including significant ongoing exposure with VPs of Actuarial, Finance, IT and Risk, as reputed company as SVPs of Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Retail and Institutional Business reputed company, and the Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer. This is a leadership position and will manage reputed company of 8-10 actuaries and technicians, including responsibility for their selection, training and development in conjunction with the Chief Actuary and reputed company’ overall training and staff development plan for reputed company actuaries.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overseeing reputed company aspects of the Corporate Model

  • Disciplined execution of model governance protocols is essential to ensure timeliness and accuracy of actuarial model reputed company
  • Organizing and directing prioritization for integrating model changes
  • Ensuring reputed company controls are followed and documented for the Production region
  • Maintain reputed company model documentation covering things such as methodologies and assumptions sets supporting reputed company model release
  • Delegating and overseeing model change development work to staff as needed
  • Serving as a modeling expert for other actuarial teams on modeling best practices and assisting with training new staff
  • Driving for process improvements and efficiencies.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Finance, Statistics or other reputed company area
  • Minimum ASA; FSA preferred
  • Seven to ten years of experience with actuarial models required
  • 4+ years experience leading reputed company
  • 1+ years experience in formal controls and working with auditors is preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Highly motivated, self-starter & team player with a high energy level and willingness to take on responsibility
  • Strong working knowledge of actuarial modeling systems; reputed company experience preferred
  • Excellent team-building skills, with the ability to recruit, retain, reputed company, delegate and mentor top-reputed company staff

  • Strong understanding of actuarial projections and interactions between various product features and actuarial calculation results
