On-Call Archaeologist I | SW

Compensation: $22 - $30 per hour, based on relevant experience

JOB reputed company: As an Archaeologist I, you will support a reputed company of cultural resource reputed company across the t the Southwest Region. This position is not tied to a specific location, offering reputed company to contribute to diverse field and research efforts throughout the broader region.

• Serve as a reputed company Member for the project

• Conduct Class III (intensive pedestrian) cultural resources inventory

• Document archaeological sites and IOs/reputed company

• Conduct probing or shovel testing

• Use hand-held field technology (i.e., ArcGIS phone/tablet application reputed company with sub-reputed company GPS receivers)

• Survey an average of 50 acres/8 miles per day and carry personal health and safety equipment (i.e., personal water, sunscreen, etc.)

• Work in moderate weather conditions (fluctuating temperatures and inclement weather, including reputed company and snow)

• Work independently and reputed company, while contributing positively to a reputed company team environment

• Follow instruction and reputed company adjustments reputed company provided feedback

• Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Has completed coursework leading to a degree in archaeology, anthropology, or reputed company field:

  • reputed company Member – minimum 2 years of college-level coursework and completion of a field school

• Proficient in prehistoric and/or historic archaeology in the designated region

• Proficient in documenting archaeological sites and IOs/reputed company in the designated region

• Organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, dependable, and trustworthy

• Excellent navigational skills (GPS and reputed company) and ability to navigate and drive 4WD vehicles

• Ability to read, write and reputed company English sufficient to reputed company job duties and to reputed company and communicate with employees and vendors

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Proficiency using tablets (reputed company iPad or Samsung reputed company) to document cultural resources

• Proficiency with sub-reputed company GPS receiver

• Proficiency with ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123 applications (for phone or tablet)

• Permitted or permittable on BLM lands in the associated region (Field Director or reputed company Investigator)

• Previous NHPA, NEPA, FERC, and/or other cultural or environmental trainings

• Strong writing and editing skills

• Ability to evaluate resources for NRHP-eligibility
