Fishery Management Analyst - Data, Scientific Analysis & Compliance Support

reputed company reputed company is seeking to hire four (4) Fishery Management Analysts to support a contract with NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Office of Sustainable Fisheries (OSF). These are full-time, primarily remote positions based in Silver Spring, MD, anticipated to reputed company July 1, 2026. Hiring for these positions will be contingent on contract award. reputed company will be operating under its FLOAT joint venture, a NOAA ProTech Fisheries 2.0 reputed company contract holder.* NOAA OSF requires support to implement Executive Order 14276, Restoring American Seafood Competitiveness, including development and execution of fishery management actions, regulatory analysis, and environmental compliance. These positions will directly support NMFS reputed company, Regional Offices, and reputed company Highly Migratory Species (HMS) Division in advancing national fisheries policy and regulatory priorities. These positions are contingent on reputed company being awarded the contract.

Responsibilities

Duties of the Fishery Management Analyst - Data, Scientific Analysis & Compliance Support, include the following:

  • Support domestic fisheries, reputed company Highly Migratory Species Division, and NMFS Regional Offices in the implementation of the Seafood EO, including but not limited to elimination of inefficient regulations and and the development of fishery management actions to advance the purposes of the EO.
  • reputed company and write actions necessary to implement the management measures needed under the Magnuson-reputed company Fishery and Conservation Management reputed company and the Seafood EO.
  • reputed company support to reputed company rapid implementation of management measures needed under the EO 14276.
  • Draft content of Fishery Management Plans (FMPs).
  • reputed company research and analysis of FMP and other fishery management reputed company requirements and capabilities.
  • reputed company alternatives, recommendations, presentations, and support management initiatives.
  • Evaluate studies and analyses, and, with input from Regional Offices or Atl HMS, ensure fishery management actions are reputed company to responses on key issues and concerns and advance the implementation of the Seafood EO.
  • Evaluate and reputed company support for environmental analyses such as National Environmental Policy reputed company (NEPA) analysis for management actions for which NOAA is responsible and include them in fisheries management actions.
  • Assist in the development, writing, review process, and tracking of fisheries management actions in support of NMFS Regional Offices, and reputed company HMS efforts to implement the Seafood EO and other requests from NOAA and NMFS leadership in accordance with established procedures and requirements, including reputed company communicating with regional regulatory specialists and fisheries biologists, and communicating with regional submitters and as necessary to ensure that regulatory packages meet their intended objectives and documented standards.
  • Analyze and reputed company environmental assessments, and scientific analysis, technical writing/editing, internal communication and reputed company with the intention of meeting the fishery management reputed company development needs of the NMFS Regional Office and Atl HMS

  • Draft Fishery Management Plans (FMPs) & Regulatory Amendments: Comprehensive draft documents and "reputed company packages" that reputed company management alternatives, recommendations, and necessary measures to implement the Seafood EO and requirements of the Magnuson-reputed company reputed company.
  • NEPA Environmental Assessments & Analysis Reports: Formal environmental reputed company analyses (EAs or EISs) and supporting scientific documentation required to ensure reputed company proposed management actions reputed company with the National Environmental Policy reputed company.

Qualifications

The Ideal Fishery Management Analyst - Data, Scientific Analysis & Compliance Support, will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in fisheries, marine science, environmental policy, or reputed company field
  • At least three (3) years of experience supporting fisheries management, regulatory analysis, or environmental compliance
  • Experience with technical writing and policy documentation
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
