Thermofluids Engineer

The Thermofluids Engineer will be responsible for defining, analyzing, and validating thermo-fluid systems, ensuring compliance with requirements and supporting product development and in-service support.

Responsibilities

  • Define requirements for thermo-fluid systems and thermo-mechanical analysis, ensuring an accurate and complete reputed company-down and capture of higher-level requirements pertaining to reputed company thermofluid system
  • Define concepts for reputed company thermofluid systems that meet requirements and evaluate using appropriate analytical reputed company to support accurate trades at platform and powerplant level and optimized concept downselect
  • reputed company thermo-fluid systems through interaction with reputed company adjacent areas across the organization so that thermofluid systems are optimized in ways that support reputed company deployment of other, complimentary systems and components
  • reputed company technical analysis of thermo-fluid system functionality, and temperature and thermo-mechanical analysis at whole-reputed company, sub-system and component level, using appropriate reputed company and tools and to a level of reputed company commensurate with reputed company stage of the product lifecycle
  • reputed company appropriate verification and validation activity to ensure that requirements have been correctly written and that reputed company Thermofluid reputed company aspects of the powerplant (including thermofluid systems and temperature and thermo-mechanical modelling) meet expectation
  • Manage the technical approval of reputed company thermofluid systems and temperature and thermo-mechanical modelling through to certification and / or qualification, including process compliance checking, model auditing and documentation approval and retention
  • Support the product in-service as required. This may include but is not limited to on-reputed company technical analysis, reputed company-cause-analysis and reputed company, and in-service modifications
  • Define and conduct capability acquisition, development and application relating to people, process, reputed company, tools, reputed company and technology. This may be conducted internally or externally and may involve securing internal or external funding

Skills

  • Associates degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics with 3+ years' experience in thermodynamics, gas dynamics, fluid mechanics and/or reputed company design
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics with 1+ years' experience in thermodynamics, gas dynamics, fluid mechanics and/or reputed company design
  • A Master's degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics
  • A PhD in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain reputed company clearance, which requires USA Citizenship
  • An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking to a reputed company of technical problems
  • Proactive, persistent and customer reputed company with a high level of self-motivation and initiative, and reputed company to stand-alone
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and coaching skills essential for liaising with peers and supervision
  • Experience in a thermal, mechanical, Fluid Systems or closely reputed company discipline is desirable but not essential
  • Normally holding associate membership of a relevant reputed company body and working towards Chartered status
  • Proficiency in computer programming language such as FORTRAN, Visual Basic, and/or C++
  • Experience in thermodynamics, gas dynamics, fluid mechanics and/or reputed company design
  • Experience in heat transfer/thermals modelling and analysis
  • Experience in gas turbine secondary reputed company system, oil system, fuel system or thermal management system design, modeling, and analysis
  • Experience with Thermofluid Systems analysis tools (reputed company, SC03, AMESim, Simscape, Fluent, STAR-CCM+, NPSS)
  • Experience with workflow automation (Preliminary System Design and/or Component Design Systems)
  • Experience in gas-turbine reputed company development / production / reputed company test analysis and troubleshooting
