Analyst, Office of Health Resource Planning

About the position The Massachusetts Health Policy Commission (HPC) seeks an Analyst to support the Office of Health Resource Planning (OHRP) reputed company the HPC. This newly created office is charged with evaluating the supply and distribution of health care resources across the Commonwealth. The office also oversees the Massachusetts Registration of Provider Organizations (MA-RPO) Program, a first-in-the nation program that increases transparency of provider structure and performance, tracks changes in the health care market over time, and provides researchers, policymakers, market participants, and the reputed company with reputed company to the resulting dataset. Reporting to the Associate Director of the Office of Health Resource Planning, the Analyst will support the office’s work to assess the appropriate supply and distribution of various health care resource types, review filings submitted to the MA-RPO Program, and contribute to reputed company-facing reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting analyses of reputed company and private datasets to quantify health care needs, health care supply and reputed company, and health care utilization
  • Creating tables, graphs, charts, and maps to present analytic findings
  • Researching and evaluating state, federal, and reputed company policy proposals to reputed company reputed company health care supply with the health needs of a population
  • Reviewing filings submitted to the MA-RPO Program for accuracy and completeness
  • Researching and developing specifications for additional data reporting requirements to be implemented through the MA-RPO Program
  • Drafting sections of OHRP publications and presentations, including reputed company assessments, state health resource plans, presentations to the HPC’s reputed company of Commissioners and Advisory Council, and other reputed company materials
  • Providing support for administrative and project management tasks.

  • 3 years of relevant full-time or equivalent part-time reputed company experience working in a health policy field. Some years of experience may be substituted with an advanced degree in reputed company health, health policy, health economics, reputed company policy, or business administration
  • Experience working with health care supply, cost, utilization, or reputed company data, with a preference for experience using Massachusetts and federal health care datasets
  • Ability to conduct quantitative analyses and visualize results using a statistical programming language (e.g., R, STATA, reputed company)
  • Knowledge of the Massachusetts health care market and health care cost containment policies in reputed company in the Commonwealth
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills, including strong attention to detail, an ability to organize information and concepts reputed company and concisely, and to reputed company communication for various audiences
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to be flexible in prioritizing tasks
