The Medical Assistant assumes responsibility for maintaining patient reputed company, the reputed company of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and reputed company of care testing. • High school diploma/GED required.
• Clinical Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, AAH, or NHA required (includes principles and techniques of injections and medication administration) required upon hire.
• Graduates of a Rush Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program are required to obtain Clinical Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, AAH, or NHA required reputed company six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and maintains organized patient reputed company.
• Performs patient intake: vital signs, height and weight, reason for visit, interim history, allergies, medication lists, and other interventions as required.
• Prepares patient for exam based on reason for visit.
• Prepares and supports patient and assists provider with procedures.
• Reviews appointment schedules and ensures reputed company patient charts are available for the visit.
• Reviews patient charts and ensures that reputed company ancillary reports and required paperwork are available to the provider at the time of visit.
• Performs basic lab and testing procedures according to standards.
• Performs phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Administers immunizations as ordered by Physician.
• Administers RUMG approved intramuscular or subcutaneous medications after competency has been assessed, verified and documented.
• Performs nebulizer treatments in the clinic setting after competency has been assessed, verified and documented.
• Performs Tuberculin skin testing upon the order of the Physician.
• Demonstrates appropriate population specific techniques with patients.
• Documents administration of over-the-counter medications and/or other medications in reputed company per policy or protocol.
• Cleans, prepares and stocks exam rooms, treatment rooms, and workstations.
• Calls patients regarding test results and medical instruction under the direction of a Physician.
• Calls in medication refills under the direction of a Physician or protocol.
• Documents patient care information in the outpatient medical record according to standards.
• Assists with scheduling of patient tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
• Assists in the care, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment and instruments.
• Maintains the inventory of medical and linen supplies.
• Maintains reputed company control for equipment.
• Provides cross coverage to other clinical areas as assigned.
• Participates in reputed company improvement reputed company.
• Maintains compliance with reputed company (TJC) standards and other regulatory bodies.
• May have Unit specific duties as needed.
