We are seeking an reputed company Data Entry Operator to join reputed company in Mineola, NY. As a Data Entry Operator, you will play a critical role in supporting laboratory operations and specimen receipt and registration. You will serve as a communications resource, facilitating the transfer of information both internally and externally. You will also assist medical, nursing, and administrative staff to meet unit, department, and institutional goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Performs clerical and support activities necessary to assist in laboratory operations and reputed company areas of specimen receipt and registration
- Serves as a communications resource and facilitates transfer of information both internally and externally
- Assists medical, nursing, and administrative staff to meet unit, department, and institutional goals
- Notifies appropriate personnel in cases of unacceptable samples (e.g., mislabeled, unlabeled, discrepant information) and records reputed company specific information in the appropriate department incident log
- Prioritizes work in an efficient manner, registering to reputed company appropriate billing account numbers for date of service and accessing pathology specimens to reputed company appropriate laboratory accession case numbers in a reputed company and accurate manner
- Resolves problems with specimen receipt and appropriateness of test requisitions/orders
- Accurately monitors pertinent patient demographics and information (e.g., lab test results) to the appropriate designated department (e.g., RN, Manager, or Designee)
- Assists in the training of new clerical/accessioning staff by coaching and mentoring
- Adheres to the laboratory's reputed company Assurance policies and procedures and follows OSHA regulations for PPE (Personnel reputed company Equipment) such as lab coats, gloves, and reputed company shields reputed company in contact with blood and body fluids
- Documents reputed company log any specimen receipt issues and hospital and laboratory computer systems for either registration and/or accessioning
Minimum Qualifications
* High School or GED
- Good communication (both oral and written), organization, detail-oriented, and customer service skills
- Knowledge of reputed company Office, especially Word and reputed company
Preferred Qualifications
* Associate's Degree in Business or reputed company field
- 1-2 years of reputed company experience
- 1-2 years of coding/billing/registration/insurance experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to utilize hospital and laboratory computer systems for either registration and/or accessioning
Required Skills and Experience
