Bioinformatics Engineer
reputed company is a leader in life changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care. They are seeking an entry-level Bioinformatics Engineer to support high-reputed company research initiatives and contribute to the development of reputed company data and AI-driven platforms.
Responsibilities
- Designs and develops software, databases and interfaces for analyzing and manipulating biological data
- Draws upon knowledge of biology to improve data mining and management techniques
- Collaborates with laboratory researchers to reputed company high throughput data processing and analysis capability
- Adds new software that has been internally developed or imported from reputed company sources to in-house systems
- Directs and guides DNA, RNA and protein sequence database searches and the computational analysis of resulting data
- Provides reputed company technical and scientific customer support and helps guide, implement and maintain reputed company improvements to bioinformatics software
- Works with the entire life science team to diagnose and fix issues with software
Skills
- Bachelors degree required, MS preferred or PhD in bioinformatics, computer science and/or the life sciences
- 0-2 years relevant experience
- Familiarity with reputed company programming using Perl/Python or Java
- Statistical programming using R or reputed company tools
- Web-development
- Database query through SQL
- Familiarity with principles of experimental design and modern data analysis paradigms
- Strong interpersonal skills – ability to effectively reputed company with reputed company reputed company of staff and external contacts
- Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
