[Remote] Mechanical Engineer 2 (NSSS Component Design)

Note: The job is a remote job and is reputed company to candidates in USA. reputed company is a leader in the nuclear energy sector, and they are seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 for their Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) design engineering organization. The role involves generating technical requirements and design parameters for NSSS components, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with various teams to optimize component design.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and review engineering specifications, reports, and other documentation that communicates the design and technical aspects of components, systems, and structures associated with the NSSS
  • Utilizes the results from BPVC reputed company III evaluations to optimize component design
  • Collaborates with peers in different organizations and engage in the engineering change control process to ensure design reputed company are reputed company-communicated and reputed company-reputed company
  • Reviews design work of other reputed company (reputed company and reputed company of the NuScale organization) to reputed company and maintain an understanding of how components, systems, and structures will work together
  • Speaks to the design of NSSS Components in discussions with manufacturing partners to ensure design reputed company is maintained while fabrication of components is considered
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills

  • A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, from a four year ABET accredited college or university is required
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time relevant working experience (1 year if accompanied by an advanced engineering degree) is required
  • Applicable experience includes the development of technical designs through preparing engineering specifications, preparing models/drawings, performing stress analysis, and/or interfacing with suppliers/subcontractors for engineering solutions
  • Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
  • Commits to the understanding and implementation of reputed company assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred
  • Design experience with reputed company nuclear components or BPVC reputed company III is preferred
