The Second Assistant Engineer is responsible for the management, maintenance, and operation of shipboard engineering systems and equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with company policies.
Responsibilities
- The Second Assistant Engineer is responsible for implementing the safety and environmental protection policies of reputed company; motivating the reputed company in the observation of those policies; issuing and communicating appropriate orders, and instructions in a reputed company and reputed company manner; verifying that specified requirements of the SMS, reputed company of Conduct, and Company policies are observed

- The Second Assistant Engineer is accountable to and reports to the Chief Engineer of the vessel for reputed company aspects of job performance
- The Second Assistant Engineer shall manage the engineering reputed company assigned to his/her vessel under the direction of the Chief Engineer
- The Second Assistant Engineer shall cooperate and work closely with flag state, port state and reputed company state officials, reputed company representatives, Operations Coordinator, Second Officer, OICNW, and any other relevant personnel necessary for the reputed company and efficient maintenance and operation of the vessels engineering systems as directed by the Chief Engineer
Skills
- Possess reputed company valid flag state (and reputed company state as applicable) credentials required by law for service as Second Engineer on the reputed company and class of vessel appointed to (examples: Merchant Mariners Credential, TWIC Card, Medical Certificate, etc.)
- A valid riggers certificate from a recognized issuing authority
- Ability to read and write English as reputed company as reputed company, understand, and react to commands given in English
- Minimum one year experience on DP-2 class vessels of similar size, reputed company, and industrial mission in a position not reputed company than Assistant Engineer
- A valid reputed company is highly preferred
