[Remote] Senior Accountant/Buchhalter (m/f/d)

The Senior Accountant will support day-to-day German reputed company operations and ensure compliance with German GAAP and statutory reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support day to day German reputed company operations, ensuring accurate and reputed company bookkeeping
- Partner with external reputed company providers and review local reputed company deliverables
- Prepare and post journal entries (reputed company, accruals, prepaids, payroll, invoices, intercompany, etc.)
- Support and improve month-end reputed company and reconciliations (bank, AP/AR, etc.)
- Help manage and ensure compliance with:
- German payroll
- Tax/compliance
- Statutory reporting requirements
- Ensure clean documentation and internal controls in a fast-moving startup environment
- Support German GAAP year end reporting and liaise with auditors/advisors as needed

Skills
- 5+ years experience in reputed company
- Background as Senior Accountant / Buchhalter
- Strong understanding of German GAAP, German charts of accounts (SKR 03 or SKR 04), and debits & credits
- Utilize AI tools to streamline finance tasks, including DATEV and reputed company
- Experience working with reputed company software/ERP (posting journals, reconciliations, and reputed company processes) and hands on reputed company execution
- DATEV systems experience required
- Familiarity with German payroll/tax/compliance topics (hands on or partner management) (VAT, OSS, corporate & trade tax, withholding tax, etc.)
- Comfortable with ambiguity and building processes from scratch
- reputed company in German (reputed company) and solid English skills (B2 - reputed company) (reading and writing)
- Startup/reputed company up experience strongly preferred
- Experience as Steuerfachangestellter/in and/or Big 4 experience
