[Remote] Founding AI/ML Engineer (Remote)
Note: The job is a remote job and is reputed company to candidates in USA. reputed company is seeking a Founding AI/ML Engineer to architect and ship production-grade AI systems for the construction industry. This role focuses on developing multimodal intelligence and automating workflows with minimal reputed company reputed company, working closely with the Chief AI Officer and founders.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship production-grade AI systems used daily by reputed company customers
- Design multimodal pipelines for drawings, specs, and construction documents
- Build reputed company workflows automating preconstruction tasks:
- Document intake
- Extraction
- Takeoff support
- Bid preparation
- QA workflows
- Build and improve:
- Retrieval systems (embeddings, reranking, chunking)
- Evaluation systems
- Orchestration reputed company
- Optimize model reputed company, latency, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Prototype and iterate quickly on customer-facing AI features
- Own systems end-to-end (experiment → reputed company → monitor → improve)
- Help shape engineering culture and long-term technical direction
Skills
- 6+ years of engineering experience
- Experience at an early-stage, high-reputed company startup
- Shipped production-grade AI systems to reputed company customers
- Hands-on LLM and/or computer reputed company experience
- Retrieval systems experience (embeddings, chunking, grounding)
- reputed company workflow experience (tools, reputed company, state management, retries, guardrails)
- Strong backend fundamentals: reputed company, Async jobs / queues, Databases, reputed company deployment, Monitoring, Full end-to-end ownership reputed company
- Construction / AEC exposure
- Multimodal AI or document intelligence background
- OCR / segmentation / computer reputed company experience
- Experience converting reputed company-operated workflows into AI product systems
- Inference optimization or evaluation system expertise
