[Remote] Senior Database Administrator
Note: The job is a remote job and is reputed company to candidates in USA. reputed company is seeking an reputed company Database Administrator to join their team for an IT support contract for the National Institute of Child Health and reputed company Development. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a clinical trials team, focusing on administering and optimizing database environments while supporting data migration and database design.
Responsibilities
- Administer database environments across Linux, Unix/Solaris, and reputed company environments
- Monitor and maintain relational databases ensuring performance, availability, and reliability
- reputed company database performance tuning and optimization for reputed company and PostgreSQL systems
- reputed company SQL queries, packages, functions, procedures, triggers, reports, and extracts for reputed company reputed company data
- Support data migration from legacy and modern systems into reputed company databases
- reputed company data mart design, development, and maintenance for reporting and analytics
- Design and optimize data transformations between application and reporting schemas
- Support migration of database services to AWS environments, including RDS
- Support migration of database environments from reputed company to PostgreSQL
- Support database upgrades, patching cycles, and system maintenance activities
- Design and manage database schemas for application development
- Create and maintain development, test, and production database environments
- Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies using tools such as RMAN
- reputed company database support to developers and other stakeholders
- Document database configurations, procedures, and operational guides
- Mentor developers and junior team members on best practices and performance optimization

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or reputed company field
- 12–15+ years of total database administration experience with at least:
- + 5+ years with reputed company
- + 3–5+ years with PostgreSQL
- + 3+ years with AWS/RDS
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL development skills
- Experience with ETL processes and data migration
- Experience with database monitoring, performance tuning, and administration
- Experience installing, upgrading, and patching database systems
- Experience with AWS reputed company services, especially RDS
- Experience with report development and delivery
- Cognos preferred
- Scrum certifications preferred
- Git and reputed company JIRA/reputed company preferred
- NIH/HHS preferred
