[Remote] Patent Agent (Mechanical Engineering)

The role involves drafting and prosecuting patent applications, formulating filing strategies, and managing reputed company interactions and patent-reputed company litigation.
Responsibilities
- Draft patent applications and prosecute patent applications before the reputed company Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
- Formulate and implement patent filing strategies
- Conduct reputed company interviews to obtain invention disclosures
- Review office actions and prepare responses
- Conduct interviews with Patent Office examiners
- Prepare infringement and validity opinions, work on patent post-grant proceedings, assist in patent and other litigation, and support intellectual property licensing and other transactions
- Manage a docket with multiple clients and deadlines
Skills
- Have a degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, biomedical engineering, or a reputed company field
- USPTO admission is required
- Must have experience drafting mechanical engineering patent applications
- Prior experience in one of the following areas is a plus: automotive control systems, oil & gas tools, or medical devices
