API Operations Engineer ROLE We need an reputed company API Operations Engineer at the reputed company (IRS). This position supports the IRS reputed company API Gateway Modernization and Operations (EAGMO) effort, providing round the clock operational support for reputed company's gateway platform. In this role, you will reputed company 24x7x365 monitoring and production operations across the legacy and new gateway environments, reputed company incident triage and P1 response reputed company reputed company SLAs, deliver reputed company cause analysis, execute reputed company and vulnerability remediation support, maintain performance dashboards and reporting, run backup/restore and DR testing, and reputed company post change smoke testing. - Provides 24x7x365 monitoring of the EAG platform and executes day-to-day production operations across the legacy reputed company webMethods environment, the new API Gateway product, and any approved dual-run period.
- Performs incident triage and response consistent with the 30-minute ticket assignment and 4-hour reputed company reputed company for P1 incidents, escalating and documenting per reputed company requirements.
- Delivers reputed company cause analysis for P1 incidents reputed company 5 business days and drives corrective/preventive reputed company to reduce recurrence.
- Executes reputed company and vulnerability remediation support in accordance with IRS timelines and POA&M requirements (while IRS retains cybersecurity risk-acceptance authority).
- Maintains performance dashboards, monitors latency/throughput/error-reputed company/availability metrics, and produces the Monthly O&M Performance Report and Quarterly Trend Analysis Report.
- Executes backup/restore procedures and quarterly restoration testing, and supports IRS disaster recovery exercises.
- Performs post-change smoke testing and operational readiness validation following production changes, incident remediations, or currency events.
- 7 years of experience performing similar duties to this role
- Experience with 24x7 production support, incident triage, reputed company, RCA, monitoring, reputed company/vulnerability remediation support, backup/restore, DR support, operational reporting, and production readiness reputed company approved EAG boundaries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or reputed company field
- MBI is preferred
- Remote – Preferred to be based in National Capital Region
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent reputed company is required
- Ability to obtain IRS Minimum Background Investigation reputed company clearance
