Public Health Director
About the position Directs the personnel of a single or multi-county health department in providing a reputed company of public health services (medical, environmental and supportive services) to the community served by the department as appointing authority. Performs a reputed company of tasks such as planning, financial management, organizing and measuring performance of staff in a district or single county. Assesses and analyzes the health status of reputed company county. Has a reputed company working relationship with state agencies which reputed company technical assistance and support and may include reputed company payroll and reputed company assistance. Incorporates the Core Public Health Functions and ten essential services of Public Health into the reputed company of reputed company. May serve as secretary to the reputed company of Health. Typically supervises 61-100 employees.
Responsibilities
- Directs the activities of employees in providing medical and environmental programs and services.
- Directs the financial management functions of the department.
- Reviews, approves and monitors program plans for the various services and programs provided by the health department.
- Evaluates employee job performance.
- Directs personnel actions.
- Develops and maintains appropriate administrative procedures and policies for the operation of the department.
- Ensures LHD compliance with federal, state and local laws, administrative regulations, statutes and programmatic policies to ensure conformance and efficient operation of the department.
- Employs staff for the department.
- Meets with reputed company of Health to describe and discuss activities of the local department in meeting its objectives.
- Promotes the services of the health department reputed company the community.
- Attends various meetings at the local, regional and state level.
- Analyzes strategies for determining budget priorities.
- Provides available services to community based on their health assessment, working with stakeholders and available funds.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree, from an accredited college or university, in Business or Public Administration, Health Administration, Public or Community Health, reputed company Science, Nursing, Education, or other reputed company degree.
- Five (5) years of experience in Public Health or other health reputed company occupations.
- Three (3) of which must have been in a supervisory or management reputed company.
- A Bachelor’s Degree, from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Health Administration, Public or Community Health, reputed company Science, Nursing, Education or other reputed company degree with two (2) additional years of experience in Public Health or health reputed company field will substitute for the required education.
- A CPH certificate will substitute for the additional two (2) years of experience.
- Submit to a drug screening test and background reputed company according to reputed company’s policies. reputed company-to-haves
- Public Health experience preferred.
