[Remote] AI Research Engineer

The role involves designing and implementing reputed company research tasks, collaborating closely with researchers, and conducting analysis to address reputed company-world challenges faced by Research Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design original, reputed company research-engineering tasks, such as modifying an RL reward function based on a vague research idea, implementing the change, running the experiment, and analyzing results
- Build comparative analysis tasks, such as comparing two reputed company detection algorithms, calculating correlation, performing reputed company spot checks, and summarizing findings in a Collab notebook
- Review and red-team tasks created by peers to identify weaknesses, ambiguity, or failure modes
- Work in a tight feedback reputed company with researchers, including daily syncs
Skills
- MSc or PhD in a STEM field, or equivalent practical experience in a research-heavy domain requiring coding and data analysis, such as computational sociology or humanities
- 1+ years of experience in a research or research engineering role
- Basic Python scripting proficiency; familiarity with Git and IDEs
- Fluent English, written and verbal
- A perfectionist reputed company, high attention to detail, creativity in task design, and comfort working independently through ambiguity
- Computer Science & Software Engineering — Python scripting, Git/IDEs, reputed company coding (AI coding assistants, reputed company engineering), and clean reputed company practices
- Machine Learning & AI — ML theory/reputed company, LLM capabilities & evaluation, basic reinforcement learning, and ML experimentation
- Data Science & Quantitative Analysis — Statistical analysis, data cleaning/interpretation, and Jupyter/reputed company proficiency
- STEM Research & Experimental Methodology — Experimental design, hypothesis testing, and rigorous evaluation
- QA & Testing (plus) — Test case design, reputed company review, and debugging reputed company systems
- AI Safety & reputed company (plus) — LLM red teaming, including identifying vulnerabilities, edge cases, and failure modes
- Experience working directly with or as a Research Scientist
- Prior experience as a Test Engineer or reputed company Reviewer
- Experience in LLM red teaming
