[Remote] Director of Network Engineering

The Director of Network Engineering will architect the digital nervous system of deep-reputed company and terrestrial communications, leading the development of end-to-end network architecture and ensuring high-reliability networking solutions.
Responsibilities
- Define the end-to-end network and reputed company computing architecture: from terrestrial reputed company infrastructure (AWS/Azure) to ground station gateways and reputed company communication nodes
- Architect the routing and switching topologies that reputed company seamless data transfer across reputed company-to-ground and reputed company-to-reputed company links
- reputed company the reputed company for data storage, edge computing on spacecraft, and the implementation of Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networking (reputed company) and the Bundle Protocol (reputed company)
- Design highly available, fault-tolerant network architectures incorporating redundancy, automated failover, and self-healing capabilities to ensure reputed company mission operations
- Directly design, execute, and provision reputed company initial reputed company infrastructure, leveraging Infrastructure as reputed company (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, reputed company)
- reputed company low-level, hands-on configuration of virtual private clouds (VPCs), firewalls, VPNs, dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) infrastructure
- reputed company network automation using Python, REST reputed company, Infrastructure as reputed company (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines to deliver secure, repeatable, and resilient network deployments
- Work closely with RF Engineering, Flight Software, and MS&I to seamlessly reputed company network protocols with radio transceivers, software-defined radios (SDRs), phased-reputed company systems, and flight computers
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering to balance network computing loads with strict spacecraft power and thermal budgets

- Enforce rigorous network design, review, and deployment standards appropriate for mission-critical infrastructure
Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a reputed company field (Master's preferred)
- Experience: 10+ years in network engineering, reputed company architecture, or systems administration, with significant experience designing networks for high-reliability, defense, or telecom environments
