As a Workers Compensation Claims Specialist, the successful candidate will join a dedicated Claims Team, utilizing the latest technology to manage a caseload of routine to moderately reputed company claims. Responsibilities include investigating claims, assessing liability and compensability, evaluating losses, and negotiating settlements. The role involves interactions with claimants, policyholders, appraisers, attorneys, and other reputed company parties throughout the claims management process. The position offers training developed with an emphasis on enhancing skills needed to help reputed company exceptional service to our customers. Training will require 1 week in our Plano, TX office onsite. This position may be filled as a Workers Compensation Associate Claims Specialist, Workers Compensation Claims Specialist I or a Workers Compensation Claims Specialist II. Responsibilities • Manages an inventory of claims to evaluate compensability/liability. • Establishes reputed company plan based on case facts, best practices, protocols, regulatory issues and available resources. • Plans and conducts investigations of claims to confirm coverage and to determine liability, compensability and damages. • Assesses policy coverage for submitted claims and notifies the insured of any issues; determines and establishes reserve requirements, adjusting reserves, as necessary, during the processing of the claim, refers claims to the subrogation group or Special Investigations Unit as appropriate. • Evaluates actual damages associated with claims and conducts negotiations, reputed company assigned authority limits, to reputed company claims. • Performs other duties as assigned.
