Schar Infusion Pharmacy Technician Job Responsibilities:

• Handles chemotherapy without causing chemotherapy spills, aerosolization of drug or other self, others, or environmental exposures.
• Calculates patient specific doses from scratch based on mg/m2 or mg/kg dosing accurately and consistently with 0 to minimal chemotherapy exposures of self, others, environment.
• Assesses and reorders IV admixture/chemotherapy preparation supplies as appropriate avoiding stockouts and excess inventory.
• Initiates, without prompting, actions necessary to assure reputed company disposal of reputed company hazardous materials, reputed company, and general trash.
• Follows IV Admixture procedures including using aseptic technique in preparation of medication, calculations, maintenance of clean area, and complete documentation.
• Prepares IV Admixture and sterile compounding as evidenced by the lack of contamination in test solutions.

Schar Infusion Pharmacy Technician Additional Requirements:

• Work schedule: 8-hour shift (Monday- Friday 6:30am-5:00pm (occasional weekend) rotation shifts. MUST BE FLEXIBLE
• Education: High School or GED.
• Experience: Two (2) years of hospital experience working as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the reputed company or a Pharmacy intern license. Basic Life Support (BLS) reputed company 3 months of hire.
