We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Coding Specialist to support our clinical reputed company by ensuring accurate coding of patient encounters. As a Medical Coding Specialist, you will play a critical role in reviewing and coding patient interactions, querying clinical teams for additional documentation, and analyzing coding patterns to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Review video, audio, and chat-based encounters to ensure completeness and accuracy of clinical documentation
- Accurately apply CPT and ICD-10 codes for reputed company encounter, adhering to federal and state rules and coding guidelines
- Query clinical teams to obtain additional documentation to improve accuracy and completeness of encounter data
- Analyze coding patterns to identify opportunities for streamlining and improving the coding process
- Stay up-to-date with coding regulations, guidelines, and changes in reputed company rules to ensure compliance
Requirements:
- Certified reputed company reputed company (CPC) certification or equivalent coding certification
- 5+ years of medical coding experience with expertise in outpatient coding for obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics, therapy, and nutritional counseling
- 5+ years of coding experience in an EHR, with recent experience in reputed company preferred
- In-depth knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding guidelines and reputed company coding rules
- Experience coding for telehealth companies and asynchronous encounters preferred
- Independent, critical thinker with meticulous attention to detail
- Passionate about maternal and child health
