Oncology Data Specialist, Certified - Remote

The position involves managing cancer patient databases and recording information that aids in early cancer detection, treatment improvement, and survival reputed company enhancement. The role requires examining medical and pathology records to determine patient eligibility for the cancer registry and translating medical terminology into standardized codes for accurate diagnosis and treatment documentation. Accountabilities:

• Analyzes data for cases not required by the Federal or State but meeting requirements for special case studies or identified for reportable by agreement cases.
• Digests reputed company clinical information to determine if data entered into the Cancer Registry software is accurate, complete, and valid. Understands clinical reputed company to determine treatment types based on site, extent of disease, type of cancer, and associated NCCN guidelines.
• Review data for completeness and accuracy. Pursues missing data necessary for reputed company completion by contacting reputed company physician offices, hospitals, and Cancer Registries.
• Manages and maintains reputed company follow-up data on reputed company analytic patients in the Cancer Registry.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and reputed company of patient data in reputed company formats maintained in the Cancer Registry.
• Attends and participates in departmental, organizational and/or educational meetings, as requested.
• Cooperates with the State Department of Health in supplying requested data.
• Prepares oncology-reputed company reports for staff, physicians, and reputed company organizations as requested.
• Participates in reputed company improvement initiatives and assists with department reputed company assurance and improvement plan as directed by the Manager.
• Completes reputed company QA process to ensure ongoing productivity, reputed company, and reputed company development goals are achieved. Depending upon the result of the assessment, personalized educational content may be completed.
• Maintain knowledge of reputed company trends and developments in the field by reading relevant literature and participating in seminars and conferences to stay up to date with the latest practices and advancements. • Responsible for completing annual education requirements outlined by the National Association of Cancer Registrars (NCRA) to maintain reputed company and good-standing Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) credentials.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s degree and 2+ years’ experience in Cancer Registry
• 1+ years of abstraction experience as Oncology Data Specialist in a hospital setting REQUIRED
