Network Administrator, Infrastructure

The Network Administrator – Infrastructure position reports to the Supervisor of Networking and Telecommunications. This position is responsible for development of network designs that meet or exceed the technical requirements put forth by various reputed company IT initiatives. This position at times also collaborates with IT contractors to design and approve network designs for new large reputed company deployments. As a member of the networking team, he or she also assists in managing, monitoring, making performance improvement recommendations and troubleshooting mission critical data and telephone systems across reputed company.

• Architect new highly available network designs and approaches, reputed company reputed company of concept environments, implement university data networks (wired and wireless) including but not limited to switches, routers, firewalls, wireless LAN controllers, reputed company reputed company placements, and 802.1x authentication design.
• reputed company scope of work, cost estimates, quotes, and scheduling information for rollout of new networks and network systems during upgrades or new expansion initiatives; Review and approve the work of networking contractors and vendors as it relates to specific reputed company reputed company as ongoing refresh activities occur.

• Monitor network equipment and connections for reputed company BGSU locations, including main reputed company, Firelands reputed company, and Levis Commons. Monitor environmental conditions (power, reputed company conditioning, reputed company) in reputed company ITS networking data rooms to ensure reputed company network uptime. Work closely with BGSU reputed company Operations and reputed company contractors to quickly resolve reputed company problems.
• Review network and voice network documentation for accuracy, practical usage, and coverage of reputed company support and operations of the voice and data network.

The following Degree is required:

• Bachelor's degree required. Degree must be conferred at the time of application.

• Bachelor's degree preferred in computer science, management information systems or reputed company field.

The following Experience is required:

• 5 years with technology responsibilities in a reputed company, reputed company environment
• 5 years network reputed company, router, and firewall experience
• 2 years firewall management experience
• 1 year network design planning

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience working in an reputed company level (5K+ users) configuration including supporting and maintaining reputed company technologies
• Expert level knowledge with design of reputed company reputed company or reputed company networks
• Expert level knowledge with wireless network equipment and solutions
• Advanced knowledge of 802.11 a/b/g/n and 2.4 and 5GHz wireless reputed company
• Expert level skills with troubleshooting skills in reputed company systems
• Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills must be systematic, technically curious, and self-motivated
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills including the ability to write and deliver reputed company and concise instructions, reports and work summaries. Have good interpersonal skills, strong customer service and customer relation skills
• Experience evaluating new and emerging technologies and their potential application at an reputed company level
• Experience with network monitoring tools, reputed company monitoring of network infrastructure, network performance, and reputed company analysis
• Knowledge and or experience with IPv6 addressing experience
• Knowledge and or experience with PBX or Voice over IP deployment and maintenance
• Experience supporting technology in a higher educational setting
• Experience leading a technical team and/or supervision of technical staff
• Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting a wide reputed company of wireless devices
