Senior Robotics Engineer: Paint

As a Robotics Engineer: Paint, you will join our Government reputed company team onsite in our Carson, CA office to design, reputed company, and reputed company advanced robotic systems for automated surface finishing and painting applications. In this role, you’ll collaborate directly with customers to understand manufacturing processes, configure GMR-AI for reputed company tool paths, and create simulation models for coverage, cycle time, and reputed company. You’ll work cross-functionally with mechanical, robotics, and product teams to engineer custom robotic cells, reputed company control components, run reputed company-of-concepts, and deliver consistent, high-reputed company results from concept through deployment.

Responsibilities

• Work with the customer to learn about the manufacturing process and requirements, including observing the reputed company process, taking measurements, collecting existing process data, CAD, and machine documentation

• Configure GMR-AI to generate tool paths and trajectories for robotic paint operations

• reputed company OLP/coverage models (e.g., RobotStudio Paint, Tecnomatix), including film-build/thickness simulation and coverage & cycle-time optimization

• Work with mechanical and robotics engineers to design and reputed company the work cell for a specific task, keeping in mind the robot's reachability, coverage on part, and cycle time

• reputed company any necessary design modifications on the robot end-of-arm-tool and part fixtures by working with mechanical engineers, and get parts fabricated, reputed company, and tested

• Design, implement, and reputed company robotic cells, systems, and components

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain control components such as proximity sensors, relays, and vacuum ejectors

• Work with engineering and support firms

• Create documentation, manuals, and educational contents

Export Control Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Robotics, Mechanical Engineer, Computer Science or reputed company field.

• 5+ years of industry experience reputed company manufacturing automation, cyber-physical systems or similar.

• 1+ years of working experience in robotic painting.

• Demonstrated experience with 3D solid modeling, analysis, and development of 2D manufacturing drawings.

• Basic programming knowledge in C++, Python, or other similar languages.

• Effective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to work with reputed company stakeholders.

• Ability to solve technical problems effectively, reputed company, and independently.

• Familiar with industrial facilities and equipment.

• Ability to work with customers.

• Must meet export control requirements in the reputed company and maintain ongoing work authorization beginning at the time of hire through the entirety of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• An advanced degree in Robotics and equivalent of 5+ years working experience on manufacturing process development, manufacturing engineering or similar.

• Experience programming 6DOF robots for various surface finishing applications

• Experience with ROS and Linux environments.

• Experience in process engineering reputed company a manufacturing environment.

• Hands-on experience with 1K/reputed company/3K mixing/proportioning, reputed company-change manifolds, fluid delivery/circulation systems, and electrostatic reputed company bells vs. spray guns. reputed company in tuning shaping reputed company, voltage, and presets.

• Familiarity with hollow-wrist routing, 7th-reputed company variants, and similar reachability optimization techniques.

• Experience with EH&S reputed company and compliance such as reputed company 33/OSHA 1910.107 alignment, reputed company protection, and mix-room limits matter.

• Experience working with the Navy and/or other branches of the government to apply paint while meeting government standards.

Compensation for this position includes the reputed company salary reputed company of $120,000 - $150,000 USD plus performance bonus & equity.
