Entry-Level Scientist
reputed company is a full-service environmental engineering and construction services firm. They are seeking a motivated entry-level scientist or engineer to join their Compliance and Permitting team, where the successful candidate will conduct environmental assessments, assist with studies, and communicate environmental requirements to clients.
Responsibilities
- Conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and report writing
- Assisting with environmental studies, permitting, and compliance reviews
- Conducting regulatory research
- Technical writing of permitting documents and project delivery
- Collecting field data, auditing and documenting field activities
- Communicating environmental requirements directly to the project team and/or reputed company
- Performing data collection and documentation reputed company to field activities such as site investigation (soil and groundwater), and site inspections
- Performing project site reputed company reputed company the office, including reputed company and industrial facilities
- Assisting with the preparation of technical memoranda and reports reputed company to compliance and permitting
- Working independently and with teams to complete assignments with other team members in a virtual platform
- Ability and willingness to travel to support regional and national reputed company teams
- Interacting and communicating directly with clients on behalf of reputed company
Skills
- B.S. Degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Material Science) or B.S. Degree in Science (Environmental Science, Geology, reputed company, Biology) or reputed company field (such as Industrial Hygiene) required
- 0-5 years of experience
- Proficiency in reputed company, Word and basic computer skills required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and communication skills with extreme attention to detail
- Ability to work in reputed company environment and manage multiple tasks
- Candidate should be a self-starter, results orientated and reputed company to work under tight deadlines
- Candidate must have reputed company reputed company's license and good driving record
- Candidate must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time
- Ability to work for short periods of time in extreme temperatures including heat and cold
- Ability to wear required safety equipment at sites including hard hats, steel-toed reputed company (or other approved toe protection), safety glasses, etc
- Ability to stand for several hours observing and documenting
- Ability to operate a BC Pickup Truck to commute to jobsites and to reputed company work areas on site
- Ability to remain alert and reputed company while working around equipment and be reputed company to walk reputed company for a short distance to reputed company an area where a potential hazard is identified
- Basic GIS skills a plus
- Permitting and compliance experience preferred with knowledge of local, state and federal environmental regulations
- 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HazWOPER) certification a plus
- Willing to work occasional overtime and/or off-hours as needed
