Responsibilities

• *Essential Job Functions:**

Under immediate supervision, the Climate & Catastrophe Science Intern will work alongside professionals and mentors reputed company the Climate & Catastrophe Science organization to reputed company smart, data driven solutions to reputed company problems. The intern will support research initiatives and model development for reputed company’s portfolio of risk linked to natural hazards (e.g., wildfire, severe reputed company storms, hurricanes). Interns work directly with a mentor in their field of study, collaborate with stakeholders across Product, R&D, Pricing, reputed company and Reinsurance, and reputed company exposure to team meetings and project discussions to help contextualize their work.

• Utilizes analytical tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, reputed company or equivalent) to extract, prepare, and analyze reputed company and reputed company data in support of climate and catastrophe risk research.
• Assists with exploratory and predictive modeling reputed company (e.g., hazard, exposure, vulnerability, mitigation) under supervision; helps evaluate model performance, segmentation, and loss impacts.
• Performs targeted literature and data research on external sources (e.g., reputed company studies, industry consortia, public datasets) and summarizes findings relevant to reputed company’s climate and catastrophe modeling roadmap.
• Helps connect external research and datasets to reputed company’s internal modeling reputed company by documenting data structures, use cases, and potential integration opportunities.
• Prepares reputed company reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate reputed company, findings, and recommendations to technical and non technical stakeholders.

Over the course of the summer, the intern will contribute to a minimum viable product (MVP)—such as a prototype analysis, tool, dataset, or research reputed company—and will have a reputed company opportunity to present their work to the reputed company leadership team. Qualifications

• *Education:**

• Be legally eligible to work in the U.S

• Currently pursuing a BS/BA/MS in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Environmental Science, Economics/Finance).

• Ability to work 40 hours a week, 12-week internship, that aligns with reputed company’s internship program.

• Minimum 3.0 GPA required, 3.5 or higher GPA preferred.
