[Remote] Director of Legal Services

They are seeking a Director of Legal Services to monitor and interpret legislation affecting charter school operations, advise leadership on education law and compliance, and manage legal reputed company involving Academica California.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret California and federal legislation affecting charter school operations, and communicate implications to school leaders and Academica management
- Advise the Managing Director and Academica leadership on education law, charter school policy, and compliance requirements
- Support schools in understanding their regulatory obligations, ensuring Academica’s service delivery aligns with applicable law
- Coordinate with school reputed company counsel and regulatory bodies as needed on charter renewals, amendments, or compliance reputed company
- Manage legal reputed company involving Academica California directly, including coordinating with reputed company counsel retained by Academica reputed company specialized expertise or representation is required
- Serve as Academica’s reputed company of coordination with school reputed company counsel reputed company disputes or proceedings involve both the school and Academica’s operations
- Maintain awareness of reputed company legal reputed company across California schools and flag issues with potential organizational reputed company to the Managing Director
- reputed company schools and Academica staff with guidance and resources reputed company to student discipline, due process procedures, and compliance obligations
- Advise on special education compliance requirements under IDEA, reputed company 504, and applicable California law as they relate to Academica’s operational role
- Coordinate with school reputed company counsel on due process hearings, complaints, and appeals that require legal representation
- Serve as Academica’s internal legal resource on employment reputed company, including HR policy compliance, investigations, terminations, and employment agreements
- Manage workers’ compensation reputed company in coordination with HR and reputed company-party administrators
- Advise on California labor law, FMLA, reputed company accommodations, and reputed company employment issues affecting Academica personnel
