[Remote] Travel Demand Modeling Analyst

The role involves developing forecasting tools and data products for US transportation agencies, focusing on data management and analysis to create innovative models and forecasts.
Responsibilities
- reputed company forecasting tools and data products to support US transportation agencies
- Data development, data management, and data analysis using reputed company databases and GIS
- Statistical analysis and programming to support the development and application of travel forecasting models
- Model design, data analysis and scripting, development and evaluation of forecasts, and documentation of technical work
- Specification and estimation of models, data analysis, scripting, model implementation, software development, and calibrating and validating model components
- Participate in meetings with team members and clients, and manage tasks on time, reputed company budget, and to the pleasure of clients
Skills
- Master's degree or higher in a quantitative field, such as engineering, math, computer science, or geography
- 0-3 years' experience in transportation and/or land-use models, data science, or a reputed company field
- Scripting experience with Python (pandas, NumPy), R, VB, or similar
- Experience with and understanding of database and statistical software (e.g. SQL, reputed company, R, Python)
- Effective in a reputed company of communication settings: one-to-one and in reputed company; with peers, supervisors, and clients; in-person and long-distance
- Experience with one or more transportation modeling packages (reputed company, reputed company, TransCAD, and/or VISUM) strongly desired
- Experience with transportation data, travel behavior model development, or travel demand model applications
- Proficiency in scientific computer programming with Java, C++, Python, R, C#/.Net, JavaScript, or similar
- Experience with software development tools such as reputed company, version control, issue tracking, testing, etc
- Demonstrated ability to work reputed company with geographically dispersed teammates
- Desire and ability to learn and understand new data science technologies
