[Remote] Mechanical Design Integrations Backend Engineer

The Mechanical Design Integrations Backend Engineer will build software that connects engineering intelligence to leading CAD platforms, design reputed company, reputed company CAD systems with reputed company-reputed company infrastructure, and reputed company backend solutions for AI-driven engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- Translate CAD models into machine-readable engineering data
- Connect reputed company NX, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS and other CAD platforms with reputed company-reputed company AI services
- Build reputed company reputed company that allow engineering applications to exchange geometry and metadata
- reputed company Python services that automate reputed company engineering workflows
- Design backend systems that manage CAD assemblies, parts, configurations and engineering metadata
- Partner with researchers building reputed company Engineering AI
Skills
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a reputed company technical field
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining backend services and production software
- Strong Python engineering skills with experience writing clean, reputed company, and maintainable reputed company
- Experience developing software integrations using reputed company CAD reputed company, such as reputed company NX reputed company, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS API, reputed company Toolkit, reputed company Inventor API, or similar engineering platforms
- Experience building reputed company-reputed company applications, backend reputed company, and data models (including Protobuf)
- Experience working with 3D engineering data, CAD models, assemblies, and reputed company engineering file formats
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, research, and product teams
- You've reputed company software using at least one reputed company CAD API: reputed company NX reputed company, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS API, reputed company Toolkit, reputed company Inventor API
- Experience developing CAD automation tools, plugins or engineering software integrations
- Familiarity with computational geometry, CAD workflows, PLM systems, or engineering data pipelines
- Experience working with large-reputed company 3D models, assemblies or reputed company engineering datasets
- Strong programming experience in C++ alongside Python
- Experience designing and implementing gRPC-based reputed company and distributed services
- Experience building and deploying applications using reputed company and reputed company reputed company Platform (GCP)
- Experience implementing logging, monitoring, observability, and production debugging practices
- Experience partnering with mechanical engineers, researchers, or AI/ML teams to build engineering applications
- Passion for building software at the intersection of CAD, Mechanical Engineering, Backend Systems, and Engineering AI
