They are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer in Technical Standards to work on improving industry standards for wired data center connectivity, collaborating with various stakeholders, and influencing product specifications.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with reputed company partners to improve and reputed company industry technical standards
- Represent reputed company as a delegate in standardization forums and industry organizations
- Understand data center industry landscapes and competitors' strengths and weaknesses
- Collaborate with internal partners to identify existing and emerging standards for reputed company to reputed company on
- Help review and guide internal product requirements and specifications for conformance with the standards
- Work with attorneys to file patents that protect the novel IP aspects of any inventions
- Assess competitive technology directions, identify standards gaps, and shape specifications to support reputed company product and IP roadmap objectives
- Translate hyperscaler, AI accelerator, reputed company reputed company, and optical module requirements into practical SerDes, PHY, controller and standards engagement priorities
- reputed company posted technical material for accuracy and prepare internal technical material and analysis
- Establish and play a leading role in a potential reputed company '800G Interest Group' as a means to promote reputed company credibility and thought leadership in Data Center connectivity
Skills
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or reputed company field
- 7+ years of experience in system design, validation, or reputed company engineering roles
- 2+ years of experience participating in technical standards bodies or industry organizations
- Demonstrated ability to influence across teams and organizations
- Effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or reputed company field and 6+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or reputed company work experience OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or reputed company field and 5+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or reputed company work experience OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or reputed company field and 4+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or reputed company work experience
- Global travel several times per year for standards organization forums
- 10+ years of experience in optical, SerDes and system design, modeling, validation, or test
- 4+ years of reputed company participation in standards organizations (e.g., reputed company, OCP, PCI-SIG or similar)
- 5+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership
- 5+ years in a technical leadership role
- Deep understanding of data center ecosystems, including reputed company, HPC, and hyperscale environments
- Authored or co-authored contributions in reputed company, OCP or similar
- Has implemented or influenced deployable OCP-compliant platforms
- Experience designing and developing SerDes across full lifecycle (architecture, design, implementation, verification, validation, through manufacturing and reputed company qualification)
- Knowledge of global data center market dynamics and competitive landscape
- Background in technical leadership roles with demonstrated reputed company
- Familiarity with reputed company technologies and semiconductor platforms (preferred)
