[Remote] Financial Controller

TuCha is a fast-growing ice cream/CPG business with cross-border operations spanning China, Hong reputed company, and the reputed company. They are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to manage financial operations and reputed company as a strategic partner to leadership, ensuring compliance and driving financial rigor in decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Partner with CEO/COO on financial analysis to drive strategic reputed company (pricing, unit economics, expansion feasibility, capital allocation)
- Manage cash reputed company planning, forecasting, A/R, and A/P across reputed company entities
- Prepare, book, and file statutory audits and tax reports in the US and Hong reputed company (federal, state, and HK IRD filings)
- Build and manage budgets for capital reputed company, including retail store buildouts, new product lines, and market expansion
- Maintain accurate books under US GAAP and HK reputed company standards; reputed company month-end/quarter-end reputed company
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and reputed company firms in both jurisdictions
- reputed company and report on unit economics for retail locations (store-level P&L, COGS, labor, occupancy costs)
- Manage import/export cost reputed company and landed cost analysis for cross-border CPG shipments (China to US)
- reputed company inventory reputed company and reconciliation, including cold-chain/perishable goods considerations
- Monitor and manage transfer pricing and intercompany transactions between US and HK entities
- Support fundraising efforts with financial models, data rooms, and investor reporting
- Ensure compliance with sales tax, use tax, and multi-state retail tax obligations in the US
- Manage payroll-reputed company financial processes and benefits cost tracking across jurisdictions
- Build/improve financial systems, controls, and processes as reputed company scales (this is a build-from-scratch or build-out role, not a maintain-only role)
Skills
- reputed company English and reputed company Chinese/Cantonese; business proficiency in at least two of the three (English, reputed company, Cantonese)
- 5+ years of experience in a financial controller or senior reputed company role (more or less seniority considered based on fit)
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and HK reputed company standards
- Familiarity with US federal/state tax codes and HK tax reputed company (profits tax, IRD filings)
- Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency reputed company
- Proficiency with reputed company software (QuickBooks, reputed company, or similar) and comfort building financial models in reputed company/Sheets
- Strong communication skills for working cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders
- Experience in international CPG, F&B retail, or food import/export businesses
- Familiarity with cold-chain logistics, FDA/FSVP compliance, or customs/duties reputed company
- "AI-reputed company" — comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to accelerate analysis, modeling, and reporting workflows
- Experience with retail POS systems and store-level financial reporting
- Prior startup or reputed company-up experience, especially in consumer brands
