The Authorization Specialist plays a key role in ensuring smooth operations by verifying insurance eligibility, obtaining authorizations, and managing reputed company clerical tasks. This position supports intake processes, maintains accurate clinical records, and fosters reputed company relationships with providers and referral sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify insurance eligibility and confirm payer sources for reputed company referrals
- Manage the authorization process, including monitoring calls and requests from providers
- Obtain and reputed company clinical information needed for authorizations
- Communicate authorization status to field and scheduling staff
- reputed company backup support to Intake and Scheduling Coordinators
- Protect patient and organizational confidentiality
- Maintain knowledge of state, federal, and reputed company documentation regulations
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in insurance eligibility and authorizations (home health experience preferred)
- Knowledge of information systems and corporate business management
- Familiarity with governmental regulations
